5 Easy Ways to Feel More Empowered as a Woman

Staying close to your family, building your career, and maintaining a romantic relationship can all contribute to you losing yourself along the way. You work so hard to keep others happy that it's easy to forget about yourself. Eventually, feelings of dissatisfaction will kick in.

Tips for Women Who Want to Feel More Empowered

1. Set Some Goals

    It doesn't matter if you're a stay-at-home mom or not, everyone needs to do something for themselves from time to time, and you probably already have an idea of what that is. Everyone has that one thing they've always wanted to do. It could be writing, painting or learning a new skill.

    Whatever it is, the advice is the same: DO IT!

    Write your goals on a piece of paper if it makes it easier for you. The goals don't need to be big either. Set smaller goals if that works for you but do something to work towards them daily.

    2. Be Assertive

    The moment you become more assertive, there will be people who'll call you crazy, hysterical, or any other adjective that people who feel threatened use.

    Pay no attention to them.

    You have every right to set boundaries, speak your mind, and do what's right for you. You never have to apologize for that.

    3. Move Your Body

      Exercise is another way that you can instantly empower yourself. When your body feels healthy and strong, you will too. Moving doesn't mean that you need to sweat it out on a treadmill or lift weights at gym either. Move in a way that makes you feel good. Take a hot yoga class, join a boxing gym or run with your dogs through a beautiful park. Exercise your way and feelings of empowerment will come more naturally.

      4. Rethink Who You Spend Time With

        Sometimes you don't know how toxic someone is until you cut them out of your life. Toxic people have a way of bringing you down, sometimes it's not even intentional, it's just who they are. If you want to start feeling more empowered, you may want to look at the people you spend the most time with. Do they encourage you and raise you up or leave you feeling drained and unworthy? It's not always easy to remove myself from your life but you can slowly start spending less time with them so that you're still being respectful. When self-empowerment becomes a priority, it becomes a lot easier to make changes that benefit you.

        5. Become an Empowerologist 

          Once you become the empowered, independent woman you've always known you are, you're in a position to start empowering others, which will only further enhance these feelings.
